She was predeceased by: her parents, Ruth Wharton (Baker) and William Wharton. She is survived by: her siblings, Bonnie Dempsey of Dagsboro, DE and George Wharton of Laurel, DE; her children, Tina Clendaniel of Lincoln, DE, Dean Furnish of Bremerton, WA, Cheryl Mills of Haymarket, VA and Rebecca Huling of Lewes, DE; her husband Martin D. Furnish; and her sister Marjorie Davis of Stephens City, VA. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren, and her twelve great grandchildren.
