He was predeceased by: his children, Dawn Field and Gabriel Hart. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Hart; his sons, Zachary and Joshua; his grandchildren, Franklin, Isabella, Eva, Marysol, Noah, Chessa, Chelsea and Reese; and his siblings, Matthew Hart, Valerie Hart, Kate Hart Rogers and Megan Hart Waters.
Michael, Pat and their Doberman pinscher "Chani" hiked the Appalachian Trail for 33 days in the 1970's. In the 1990's Michael donated his nursing skills by volunteering in Albania to assist the refugees of the Bosnian War.
