It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lewis Dean Adkins of Laurel, Delaware, who passed away on February 22, 2025, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Lewis Dean Adkins to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Jackson Adkins and Margaret Truitt Adkins; his sister Cheryl Adkins Yarema; and his wife Dorothy "Dot" Adkins. He is survived by: his daughters, Georgia Adkins of Jonesborough, TN, Jennifer Simowitz (David) of Blades, DE and Holly Adkins of Salisbury, MD.; his grandchildren, Robbie, Greg, Erik LeCates, Tyler, Jackson Simowitz and Hayley Vogan; and his pets, Gizmo and Prissy.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Short Funeral Home (13 E Grove St, Delmar, DE 19940). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made in the name of Lewis Adkins to Delaware Hospice or the Humane Society of Delaware.
