She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Sanders and Lula Mae Glover Smith; her husband Rev. William A. Hitchens, Sr.; her children, Sheila Y. Holmes and Rev. William A. Hitchens, Jr.; and her brother Ceasar "Sonny" Campbell.
She is survived by: her children, Claudelle Y. Hitchens and Louis S. Hitchens (Lisa); her sister Doris Campbell Wilson (Lamont); and her stepsiblings, Juanita Sanders, Sandra Sanders, Reggie Sanders (Sonya) and Ricky Sanders. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, in-laws, and friends.
