He was predeceased by: his parents, John Cornelius and Helena Maria Steenkamer (Ewaardt); and his sisters, Johanna "Ann" McCauley (late Andrew) and Theresa "Terry" Blades (Hal). He is survived by: his sons, Thomas Gerard (Stephanie Lashmet), John Gilbert (Lisa Wolf), Michael Jerome (Kimberly White), Paul Hendrik (Sharon Johnson), David Andrew (Juliane Madsen) and Stephen Mark (Juliett Knopf); his grandchildren, Katrina (Alex), Meredith (Kevin), Christopher (Erin), Adam (Katie), Benjamin, Emily (Mason), William, Alida (Tyler), Elizabeth, Andrew, Kate, Hannah and Daniel; his great grandchild Cameron; and his sister Helen Lynaugh (late Edward).
Viewing was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:45 AM at the St. Mary of the Assumption Church (7200 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, DE 19707). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
