He was predeceased by: his parents, Hubert A Prettyman and Ruth Prettyman (Vaughn); his siblings, Hubert V. Prettyman, Barbara Yurek and Mary Lou Markow; and his wife Bettye (Tingle) of Georgetown.
He is survived by: his brother Stephen Prettyman (Lorriane) of Seaford; his children, Joseph R. Prettyman II (Sherrie) of Georgia and Rebecca "Becky" Collison (Glenn) of Harrington; his sister-in-law Suzanne Tingle Cash of Newark, DE; his grandsons, Randy Davidson (Lesley) of Dover, DE and Robert Davidson of Parksley, VA; and his great grandchildren, Sierra, O'Rian, Tommy, Hunter Kelly, Jonah and Caleb Davidson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
