He was predeceased by: his parents, Henrietta Legates and Paul Legates. He is survived by: his wife Donna Legates; and his son Robert Cubbage (Christine). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the America Diabetes Association.
