He was predeceased by: his father John R. Butler; and his children, Matthew Butler and Tammy Butler. He is survived by: his wife Libby Butler; his siblings, Teresa Mayfield, John R. "Bob" Butler, Jr. (Peggy) and Debbie Bayless (Clarence); and his grandchildren, McKenzie Butler, Bethany Butler, Ezra Butler, Allison Jones and Rebecca Lee.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to "Melvin Funeral Home" to help defray funeral expenses.
