He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy Gillespie and Alexander Gillespie; his wife Fay Gillespie; his daughter Kathy Snow; and his brother Donald Gillespie.

He is survived by: his sons, Tom Gillespie, Clarence Gillespie Jr. and Scott Gillespie; and his brother Edward Gillespie. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.
