She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman D. Smith and Mary Matilda Rebecca Jenkins; and her siblings, Leon Smith, Elizabeth Johnson, Dorothy Harris and Herman Smith, Jr..
She is survived by: her husband Earle Joseph DeFord; her children, Carol Butler (Jack) of Denton, Frank DeFord of Greenwood and Barbara Williams (Jim) of Greenwood; her grandchildren, Tammy, Rebecca, Benjamin, Kim, Frank, Jr. and Amy; her stepgrandsons, Jim and Chris Williams; her sisters, Hannah Cohee of Harrington, Alberta Roberts of Milford, Frances "Dee" Carmean of Milford and Joyce Trader of Milford; and her sisters-in-law, Ruth Ann DeFord, Thelma Passaro and Eloise Wooden. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
