He is survived by: his children, Joshua Absher (Brandie) and Tricia Absher-Mix; his granddaughters, Alana and Alivia; his siblings, Susie Brittingham (Jesse), Dianna West (Richard), Nancy Passwaters, Lola Cunningham, Brenda Taggart, Connie Garris, Becky Mosley and Linda Lape; and his stepmother Carol Lee Absher. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
