He is survived by: his wife Jennifer Robertson Layfield of Georgetown; his children, Douglas Layfield, Jr (Melinda) of Millsboro, Dennis Morris, Jr. (Melanie) of Belford, NJ and Heather Layfield (Chris) of Georgetown; and his siblings, Danny Messick of Millsboro, Christine Hufnal of Magnolia and Vicky Apostolopoulos of Milford. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and a large extended family.
