He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer E Vockel and Dorothy Clark Vockel; his brother Charles Vockel (Chick); and his grandson Tyler Trego. He is survived by: his wife Susanne Vockel; his children, Stephanie Wales (Jerry) of Smyrna, Cristi Trego (John) of Houston and Stephen Jeffrey Vockel (Buster); his stepson Jamie Plymire Sr. of Frederica; his grandchildren, Paige Dennison (Adam Heilman), Dylan Trego, Melissa Hall, Roy Hall, Cierra Trego Jamie Plymire (Alberto Mendez), Brayden Vockel and Logan Vockel; and his great grandchildren, Emory Bush, Jeremiah Plymire, Mayson Trego, Nevaeh Plymire and Kai Bush.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Wounded Warriors Project, in Steve's memory.
