He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford I. Murray and Lucy Murray (Magee); his brothers, Clifford I. Murray, Jr. and Thomas C. Murray; and his brother-in-law Harry Smith.

He is survived by: his wife Kathryn "Kathy" Murray (Smith); his sons, Robert "Robbie" Murray, Jr. (Denise) and Bryan Murray (Nicole); his grandchildren, Billy Murray (Blakelyn), Elizabeth Murray, Katie Murray (Edward Nichols), David Millman, Belle Murray, Bryan Murray and Keirra Santarelli; his great grandchildren, Braxton and Liam; his sisters, Janet Smith and Neva Proudfoot (Dave); his sister-in-law Glenda Murray; and his pet Chloe. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
