He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Lloyd Grimes and Mildred D'Andelet-Grimes; his brother Walter Grimes; and his daughter Sharleen Grimes Stannis. He is survived by: his wife Maureen Machmuller Grimes; his children, Cheryl Altman (Marc), Julie Hulley, Richard Lloyd Grimes II and Chelsea Grimes-Heidenberger; and his great grandchildren, Labrador Retrievers, Ruby and Rosie.
