With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joan Smith of Fenwick Island, Delaware, born in Washington, District of Columbia, who passed away on September 21, 2021 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, John Garner and Virginia Garner (Williams); and her sister Karen Garner Sweetman. She is survived by: her children, Adam Craig Smith (Denise) of Salisbury and Amy Smith-Wiech of Mokuleia; her grandchildren, Evan, Jenna Smith, Keenan and Kailee Wiech; her brother Jack Garner (Nancy) of Dover, DE; and her brother-in-law Robert Sweetman of Glenwood, MD..
