He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Vernon and Lorena Vernon (Strang); his wife E. Joan Vernon; his brother Donald; his sister-in-law Ursula Vernon; his sister Marion; his brother-in-law Hugo Sandberg; his son-in-law Lawrence Sheffer; and his nephew Jim Scalzo.
He is survived by: his daughters, Lynne Denham (Eddie) of Dover, DE., Eileen Rodriguez (John) of Salem, NH and Jane Sheffer of Magnolia, DE; his grandchildren, Regan Sheffer (Josh) of Philadelphia, PA and Caitlin Sheffer of Georgetown, DE.; and his great grandchildren, Vance, Nora and Claire.
