It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Jerome Connell Jr. of Dover, Delaware, born in Wilmington, Delaware, who passed away on October 23, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Jerome Connell, Sr. and Margaret Dorrest Holveck; his wife Shirley Ann Connell; and his siblings, Diane Keen, Yvonne Stallard and Robert Connell.
He is survived by: his children, Patricia Connell Foreman (John) of Bethany Beach, DE and Scott Connell (Kimberley) of Dover, DE; his brother Dennis Connell (Bonnie) of Middletown; his brother-in-law Billy Keen; his sister Peggy Hall of Smyrna, Tennessee; his grandchildren, Renee Cohee (James), Jorge Delgado (Catherine), Courtney Duncan (Andrew), Ashley Donaldson (Mario) and Chelsea Mayfield (Derek); and his great grandchildren, Wesley Cohee, Mitchell Cohee, Maddox Duncan, Scarlett Duncan, Jackson Mayfield and Carson Mayfield.
A graveside service was held on Monday, November 4th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery (2465 Chesapeake City Rd, Bear, DE 19701).
In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made in memory of John Connell, Delaware Veterans Home, 100 Delaware Veterans Blvd, Milford, DE 19963.
