He was predeceased by: his wife Marcia Mahoney; and his siblings, Jay Mahoney (Geri), Ernest Mahoney and Mildred Kaneicki (Mike). He is survived by: his son Scott Mahoney (Jill); his girlfriend JoAnne Chilcote; his partner's son Joseph Chilcote (Melanie); and also Roman Chilcote.
