With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Virginia Fitzgerald Thompson of Delmar, Delaware, who passed away on July 21, 2021 at the age of 99. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Fitzgerald and Gladys Parsons Fitzgerald; her husband Lewis Halsey Thompson; her daughter Mary Louise Thompson Owens; her grandson William Thomas Owens, Jr.; and her siblings, Richard Fitzgerald, Francis Fitzgerald, Linwood Fitzgerald, Bobby Fitzgerald and Bertha Brooks.
She is survived by: her daughter Teri Brittingham (Gary McMullen) of Delmar; and her grandsons, John W. Owens (Pat), James L. Owens (Bridget), John A. Townsend, Jr. (Amy) and David L. Townsend (Angel). She is also survived by 15 great grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
