She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Johnson, Sr. and Blanche E. Carrigan Johnson; her former husbands, Leroy McFadden and Rev. Willie F. Tanner; her husband Hayward Greene; her children, Hester Birckhead and Leroy McFadden, Jr.; her stepson Charles A. Greene (Virginia); and her siblings, Rubye Lee James, Preston Johnson, Rochester Johnson, Thomas Johnson, Jr., Harold A. Johnson, Bobby Johnson, Betty Jean Nicholson, Lillie Eva Lee and Willine Scott.
She is survived by: her daughters, Laverne Jarman (Theodore), Dorothy McFadden Wallace and Edith McFadden; her stepchildren, Willett Tanner and Dr. James Greene (Katherine); her godchildren, Janet Jackson and Marcus Milligan; and her grandchildren, John M. Birckhead III (Mareesa), Troy Wallace, Clifton Barnes (Melissa), Michele Jarman, Shonda Greene, Jonathan Birckhead (Ann), Freddie McFadden (Rosie) and Andre McFadden. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and special friends.
