We are sad to announce that on March 13, 2021, at the age of 91, Ruby Lee Brubaker of Delmar, Delaware, born in Chincoteague, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Anna Pettit Satchell and Roland Lee Satchell; her husband Alton R. "Dutch" Brubaker, Jr.; her siblings, James N. Davis, Stewart L. Satchell, Kathryn Pettit Satchell Rodgers, Mary Lou Satchell Mason and Lois Ann Satchell Hagen; and her stepson W. Dale Brubaker.
She is survived by: her children, David P. Downing (Phyllis B. Downing), Donna L. Downing Thomas (Larry C. Thomas) and Debbie L. Downing Culver (William R. Culver, II); her stepdaughter Gwen Brubaker Shedaker (Phillip Shedaker); her friends, Jean Lyons of Orange Park, FL and Kathleen Carter of Columbia, SC.; and her grandchildren, Stephen A. Ross, Jr. (Andy), Kathleen Ross Galloway, Amber Culver Walters, Melissa Brubaker, Tamara Ross Langthorn, Julie Downing Mann, Aaron D. Brubaker, Christina L. Downing, William R. Culver, III (Bobby) and Donna Leigh Culver Stripling. She is also survived by 24 great-grandchildren.
Volunteering was a rewarding part of her life, giving many hours to the American Heart Association and Peninsula Regional Medical Center.
