Hankenson (Mike), Candy Dose, Brandi Timmons, Lettie Ann Harold and Rhonda McDowell Cipolla; his grandchildren, Jessica McDowell, Collin McDowell, Bodee McDowell, Randy Hankenson, David Dose, Jimmy Dose and Amanda Gallagher; his great grandchildren, Zaimyn, Creedyn, Danyca, Elaina and Marley; his siblings, William McDowell (Lorraine), Johnny "Poker" McDowell (Sheila), Connie Coodey (Walter) and Kay Smith (Paul); his sister-in-law Dorothea McDowell Winter; his daughter Heidi M. McDowell; and his brother Ron McDowell. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
