He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Gibbs and Katie Parker Gibbs; his former wife Claudette Gibbs; his siblings, Bobby Gibbs, Junior Gibbs, Marcy Gibbs, Howard Gibbs, Florence Stallings and Virginia Mitchell; and his son-in-law Jeff LeBlanc.

He is survived by: his wife Helena Gibbs; his children, Marvin Lynn Gibbs (Tina Walker) and Linda Le Blanc; his grandchildren, Jessica Gibbs, Timothy Gibbs, Tara Gibbs, Dawn Gunby, Tyler Hill and Sarah Hill; his great grandchildren, Kirsten Montague, Renee Montague, Benjamin Montague, Eliza Johnson and Abigail Gunby; and his sister Betty Lutes. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
