He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Pettit and Helen Pettit of Stockton, MD.. He is survived by: his sons, Christopher (Krista) of Cambridge, MD and Chad of Baltimore; his grandchildren, Rachel Pettit of Silver Spring, MD and Lance Corporal John Pettit; his stepgrandson Corporal Jared Campbell; and his sister Kathy Bounds (Billy) of Girdletree.
