He was predeceased by: his parent Benjamin Franklin Powell; and his half-brothers, Ernest Smith and Larry Smith. He is survived by: his parent Ellen Mary Powell (Elliott); his spouse Kathleen Callahan Powell; his children, Robert Wilkinson, Bryan Powell, Bruce Alexander, Michelle Riggs, Bruce Powell, Jr., Melissa Davis and Jamie Powell; his siblings, Benjamin Powell, Jr., Patricia Truitt, Roland Powell and Vernon Powell; and his half-sister Faye Vaughn. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren; several great grandchildren.
