He was predeceased by: his parents, Gardner H. Hastings and Eileen Bertha Hastings (Lewis); and his son Bruce J. "B. J.". He is survived by: his wife Susan R. Hastings; his children, Cynthia M. Hastings, Lori Hastings (Rob Ennis), Stacie Ennis (Greg) and Scott A. Hastings (Megan); his stepchildren, William M. Willey, Jr. and Michelle Willey (Dave); his grandchildren, Bradley, Alexis, Taylor and Kayla; his great grandchild Riley; and his siblings, Joyce Bowden (Roland), Charlotte Dinkel and Edwin Hastings (Teresa). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
