He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael V. Poczynek and Joyce Poczynek (Leathem). He is survived by: his wife Diana Rita Poczynek (Balbach); his children, Melanie Ward, Jake Poczynek (Amy) and Monica Poczynek (Nick); his sister Patti McDonald; and his grandsons, Aaron, Matthew, Austin, Rhys, Michael and Ace.

In lieu of flowers and shared memories, the family asks that donations be made to the funeral home to offset funeral expenses.
