He was predeceased by: his sisters, Ruth Ann Marvel and Nancy Steele. He is survived by: his wife Lois Wingate (Brasure); his son G. W. Wingate, III; his grandson Garrett Wingate; and his siblings, David Wingate (Susan) and Virginia Rickards (Allan). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
