He is survived by: his wife Marina Townsend (Cortez); his children, Ricky Townsend (Leslie) of Dagsboro, DE, Erica Townsend of Dagsboro, DE, Jessica Townsend Phillips (Glenn) of Frankford, DE and George Townsend of Dagsboro, DE; his siblings, George Townsend of Dagsboro, DE, Georgeanna Mowbray of Frankford, DE, Glen Townsend of Millsboro, DE and Shane Townsend of Clarksville, DE; and his close friend Alfred Marshall. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Frankford Chapel of Melson Funeral Services (43 Thatcher St, Frankford, DE 19945). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery (32112 Vines Creek Rd, Dagsboro, DE 19939).
