He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Donat and Mary Donat; and his siblings, Sylvester (Buster), Beatrice, Donald, Eugene, Dale, Duane (Sam) and Lila Jean.

He is survived by: his nieces, Sheri and Sandy Donat; his wife Angela; his sister Arlene Kudak; his daughters, Candace Hess (David), April Humphries (Scott), S. Meghann Smith (Rick) and Amanda Dempsey (Robert); and his grandchildren, Christopher, Benjamin, Ryan Hess, Jacob Harvey and Jamitre Harmon.
