It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Arthur D. Meritt (Claymont, Delaware), who passed away on November 29, 2019, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his former wife Patricia Haught Meritt; his parents, Benjamin Dean Meritt and Elizabeth Kirkland Meritt; his brothers, Benjamin Dean Meritt, Jr. and James Kirkland Meritt; his nephew Andrew Farr Meritt; his brother-in-law Warren W. Haught (Bill); and his son-in-law David Fleetwood.
He is survived by: his wife Ann Trice Meritt; his stepchildren, Linda Littleton (Edward), Pamela Fleetwood, Mary Fleetwood, Susan Fleetwood and Alan Fleetwood (Krista); his niece Cornelia Dean Meritt Wood (Robert) of Hamilton; his nephews, James Kirkland Meritt, Jr. (Marilyn) of Pittsford and Benjamin Alan Meritt (Sheila Sikorski) of Turnersville; and his sisters-in-law, Judith Haught Shockley (Dave) of Wilmington and Nancy Haught Handlin of Claymont, Delaware. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
