He was predeceased by: his father Morris L. Simms Sr.; and his siblings, Michael, Morris Simms Jr., Sherri Malone Simms and Lori A. Watson.
He is survived by: his wife Deborah D. Simms; his children, Colin C. Simms and Brean B. Simms; his grandson Nyjah A. Kenerson; and his siblings, Richard G. Simms, Keith O. Simms, David L. Simms and Schindel Barricks. He is also survived by his sister -n-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
