She was predeceased by: her parents, James Borthwick and Mary Borthwick of Blackbird; her husband Earl J. Hurd, Jr.; and her brother James Borthwick. She is survived by: her siblings, Betty Staats of Federalsburg, MD and John G. Borthwick of Blackbird; and her children, Brenda Ebling of Townsend, Donna Hite of Bushnell, Fla., Mary Hurd of Magnolia, Bonnie Hurd of Morganton, N. C. and E. J. Hurd of Clayton. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
