She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Gilmore and Eudora Gilmore; her husband Elwood B. Payne; and her siblings, Eudora G. Brown, Everson Gilmore and Clarence "Sonny" Gilmore.
She is survived by: her siblings, Carol Gilmore Kelsey, Vesta E. Woodson, Sterling K. Gilmore (Barbara) and Allan T. Gilmore (Louise); her niece Michelle Yvonne; and her godson Irving McConnell, Jr..
