She was predeceased by: her parents, Duane and Estelle; and her son Carl Alston Reed. She is survived by: her daughters, Danielle Reed, Amber Stone and Charnita Givan (Edward); her grandchildren, Nathan, Aja, Nakayla, Ayize, Nia, Elle and Esme; her sister Lorraine Alston Gross; her aunt LaVerne Turner; her uncle James Smith (Marion); her nieces, Marnie and Vanessa; and her friend Carl Reed. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other beautiful relatives.

Visitation was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church (1140 6th St NE, Washington, DC 20002). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
