She was predeceased by: her parents, Henrietta Ann Brown Bailey of Carrolton and Herbert Hugh Brown of Surrey County; and her grandmother Lucy Bailey Pierce. She is survived by: her siblings, Minnie Lee, Herbert Allen, Mildred Viola, Maggie Lucille, Louis Milton, Morris Edward, Dorothy, Gladys Magnolia, Nora Eliss, Henrietta Virginia (Ginny) of Martha's Vineyard, William Fredman, Norman Purcell, Nolie Sisco and William R. Hyde, Jr.; her children, David, Drew and Gail Fisher; her grandchildren, William R. Hyde III (Ricky), Ariana, Kayla, Marley and Zoe; and her close friend Elsie Bryant.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Nineteenth Street Baptist Church (4606 16th St NW, Washington, DC 20011). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 at the Parklawn Memorial Park (12800 Veirs Mill Rd, Rockville, MD 20853).
Always willing to donate her time, Opal engaged in many volunteer activities.
