He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. William Norvell Coots and Theresa P. Coots. He is survived by: his wife Claudia; his children, Maximillan and Catalina; his sister Elizabeth Early; and his stepsister Dr. Denise Holland. He is also survived by extended family and friends.
During the challenging times of the pandemic, Dr. Coots further displayed his commitment by being an integral member of the Governor of Maryland's Covid19 Task Force.
His remarkable efforts also garnered recognition from the Pearl S. Buck Society for his contributions to the development of a healthcare program for Amerasian orphans in Korea.
