It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nicholas A. Balland (Washington, District of Columbia), who passed away on November 26, 2024, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Nicholas leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.
He was predeceased by: his son Paul. He is survived by: his wife Katina; his children, Andrew and Nerissa (Michael); and his grandchildren, Eli and Teddy.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral (2815 36th St NW, Washington, DC 20007). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 at the Columbia Gardens Cemetery (3411 Arlington Blvd, Arlington, VA 22201).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a memorial donation be made to either the American Heart Association or Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral. (details below).
