He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Ellis and Henrietta Ellis; and his brother-in-law William "Billy" Wise. He is survived by: his siblings, Denise V. and Willie Jr.; his sons, Medrick Jr. and Pernell; and his great-niece Jordyn.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 11th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Canaan Baptist Church (1600 Newton St NW, Washington, DC 20010).
