She was predeceased by: her mother Gladys M. Whitted; her husband Kenneth R. Hailey, Sr.; and her brothers, Milan H. Lucas and Cedric L. Lucas. She is survived by: her father Allan E. Lucas, Sr. of Adelphi, MD; her sons, Jordan L. Hailey, Sr. of Gaithersburg, MD and Kenneth R. Hailey, Jr. of Los Angeles, CA.; her brothers, Allan E. Lucas, Jr. (Sharon) of Washington, DC and Joseph G. Lucas, Sr. (Lois) of Rolesville, NC; her grandsons, Jordan L. Hailey Jr. and Josiah K. Hailey; her aunt Delores Cooke of Bronx, NY; her stepfather Charles Atkinson of New Haven, CT; and her stepsiblings, Cheryl Atkinson of Hamden, CT, Lisa Jones of New Haven, CT, Patricia Reynolds of New Haven, CT, Gregory Atkinson of Pittsburgh, PA and Johnny Houston (Blonca) of Largo, MD.. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
In 2010, Gwyn was diagnosed with a rare form of Parkinson' Disease.
