With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Doris E. Harris (Washington, District of Columbia), born in Youngstown, Ohio, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 12, 2025 at the age of 94. She was predeceased by: her parents, Eugene Davis and Otelia Simmons Davis; her husband Rev. William R. Harris; her siblings, Ethel, Pauline and Robert; and her daughter Elaine.
She is survived by: her friend Dr. Esther Shoemaker; her daughter Pauline; her niece Celeste; her nephews, Horace (Ruth), Broderick (Cassandra) and Jonathan; her great-nieces, Delia (Alonzo), Victoria (Charles) and Zoe; and her great-nephew Joshua. She is also survived by relatives, friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Brooks Chapel at 19th Street Baptist Church (4606 16th St NW, Washington, DC 20011). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
