She was predeceased by: her parents, Oliver Bumbry and Beatrice Bumbry. She is survived by: her husband Lamont; her son Lamont (Kelli); her sister Jackie Smith; her sisters-in-law, Creola Poole (Tyrone) and Gloria Hedgepath (Don); her godson Michael Hayes; and her uncle Rev. James E. Coates (Marcia). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and many, many friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Gethsemane Baptist Church (5119 4th St NW, Washington, DC 20011). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 from 10:15 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 at the Maryland National Memorial Park (13300 Baltimore Ave, Laurel, MD 20707).
