He was predeceased by: his wife Doris Gray (McMahon); his parents, Ernest Gray and Martha Gray (Daniels); his son James E. Gray; and his siblings, Ernest Gray and Alma Thompson.

He is survived by: his sons, Gary Gray (Lisa) of Weatogue and John Gray of Waterbury; and his caregivers, Julia and Amber. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made in Lester's name to Wolcott Animal Control, C/O the Wolcott Police Department.
