She was predeceased by: her parents, Eugene Chipman and Mildred Chipman (Benedict). She is survived by: her husband John Edward Gaura; her children, Charles "Chuck" Gaura (Lisa) and Leslieann Martocchio (George); her grandchildren, Hanna Gilbert (Noah), Brody Gaura (Cailyn), Halle Perry (Caleb), Halena McDonald (Noah), Haiden Martocchio, Jazmin Gaura and Hunter Martocchio; and her great grandchildren, Avea Gilbert and Baby Perry. She is also survived by 7 nieces and 3 nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: The Shirley Gaura Athletic Scholarship Fund at Northwestern Regional #7, 100 Battistoni Drive, Winsted, CT 06098.
