It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Leona Mangione (Winsted, Connecticut), who passed away on July 10, 2023, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Leona Mangione to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Leo Lachat and Eva Lachat; her husband Salvatore Mangione; her son Joseph Mangione; and her siblings, Bernadette Hogencamp, Jeanne Wilcox, Noella Lachat, Pauline Hughes, Rita King and Maurice Lachat.
She is survived by: her brother Charles Lachat of Florida; her children, Robert Mangione (Jean), Richard Mangione (Rhonda), Lorraine Mangione, John Mangione (Heather) and Marie Hubbard (Charles); her grandchildren, Steven, Daniel, Ryan, William, Michael, Nicole, Matthew Mangione and Kyle Hubbard; her great grandchildren, Donovan, Cora, Elliott, Emmy Mangione, Oakley, Leona and Teddi Hubbard; and her caregivers, Claudia (RN), Ashley, Allison and Lorna. She is also survived by her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Leona's memory can be made to the American Cancer Society, Food Pantries, or any organization that helps the poor. These charitable donations will ensure that Leona's legacy of kindness and compassion continues to make a positive impact in the lives of others.
