He is survived by: his wife Darling Caine of Torrington; his children, John R. August, Jr. of Watertown, David Caine (Laurie), Diane Deming (Bruce) of Torrington, Brenda Deming (Clayton) of Torrington, Sheila Morrell (Calvin) and Linda Galinski (Jonathan) of Torrington; and his brothers, Roland August of Winsted and Dennis August (Edith). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren.
