In loving memory of John O'Brien (Winsted, Connecticut), who departed this world on January 1, 2025 at the age of 89. John leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia O'Brien (DiVita); his parents, John A. O'Brien and Mary O'Brien (Ferry); his sister Betty Voight; and his daughter-in-law Lucy LaMere.

He is survived by: his children, John "Jack" O'Brien of Norfolk, Kathy Bascetta (John) of Norfolk and Michael O'Brien of Winsted; his stepdaughters, Lori Beecher (Scott) and Karen Chubbuck; his grandchildren, Erica, John, Betsy, Kara, Christine, Jenna, Casey and Maria; and his niece Paula Voight-Jause. He is also survived by several great grandchildren, step grandchildren, step great grandchildren.

The military honors was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 at 11:45 AM at the St. Joseph Cemetery (89 Torringford St, Winsted, CT 06098). A graveside service was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 at the same location.
