He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Wassell and Evelyn Wassell (Brooks); his grandson Steven Richard Bonyeau; and his siblings, Joseph, Edward, Francis, Jackie, David, Robert, Freddy, Michael Wassell, Margaret Blajda and Shirley Wassell.
He is survived by: his wife Elsie Wassell (Mitchell); his children, Richard E. Wassell of Springfield, MA and Darlene D. Bonyeau of Westfield, MA; his stepdaughters, Jean Wheeler (Pat) of Ft. Worth, TX and Barbara Snyder (Mike) of West Hartford; his stepgrandchildren, Benjamin Snyder, Ariella Snyder and Aaron Snyder; and his siblings, Stanley Wassell, Donald Wassell, Judy Olson and Barbara Wassell. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
