He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis James and Delia O'Neil (McLaughlin); his grandsons, Sean and Tyler; and his brother Francis J. (Mary O'Neil).
He is survived by: his wife Joan H. O'Neil (Leach); and his children, Kathleen Bourassa (Gary) of Shirley, MA, Karen Raistrick (Robert) of Salem, NH, Joseph O'Neil, Jr. (Sue) of Tecumseh, MI, Eileen Urh (Andrew) of Revere, MA, Patricia Sargent (Larry McDonnell) of Malden, MA, Francis O'Neil (Kristin) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Timothy O'Neil (Karen) of Reading, MA, Matthew O'Neil (Kelly) of Westerly, RI and Maureen Hasz (Scott) of Windsor. He is also survived by twenty-eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
